A BIT ABOUT US! Lagos Navigators was set up by a group of yachtsmen in 2004/05, to enable locals and visitors to meet and share views, experiences and information in a convivial environment. We also use our activities to raise funds for the Children’s Home in Lagos, the “CASLAS Lar de Jovens”. We raised a record amount for the youngsters in 2007/08 – over €1,000! Click here for full details. Over each winter, we aim to provide a monthly talk, presentation, visit or discussion. For example, we’ve been “Behind the Scenes” at Sopromar Boat Yard and also visited Tavira Observatory. Plus we have Quiz Nights, a Craft Group, Country Walks, Book Swap and there’s even a Gardening Group! And we organise Fun Sailing Events, too - right throughout the winter. Have a look at the “What’s On” pages, to see for yourself.
The Navigators’ Net, VHF Ch. 09, 0930 on Mondays and Fridays, has become a key part of our activities - it features weather forecasts, social information and other items of interest to keep YOU in the picture.
We’re especially pleased that the Marina de Lagos management team continues to support our self-help efforts. In addition, they arrange a series of “NINE EVENTS FOR NINE MONTHS” over the winter season, to keep us occupied and entertained during our stay. Day sailing on a replica Caravel and Cookery Classes were just two recent events they put on.
We hope to see you in Lagos and that you join in our activities. Good sailing! Lagos Navigators.
